While for some the preferred way of sorting conflicts might be throwing fists, throwing arguments at each other has proven to be a much more redeeming strategy. Dating back to ancient times, debating has proven to be no less challenging than a physical fight. It equally requires strategy, observance and confidence, yet there are two small words which sum things up perfectly: public speaking.
As part of a (rather huge) society, being able to convince an individuum (or even a crowd) of your opinion is a valuable skill. The students of today are the thinkers, leaders and innovators of tomorrow. Practicing how to debate teaches us students how to handle people, how to handle large quantities of information, but most importantly to always reflect upon our views, be open to others‘ opinions and always question everything.
